Close Loss Puts Gamecocks In A Bind

South Carolina faced North Carolina State in a winner’s bracket game Saturday night at Doak Field in Raleigh, N.C. USC fell behind early but rallied to take the lead, But the Wolfpack scored a pair of single runs in the sixth and seventh innings to emerge with a 5-4 victory that forces USC to win three games over the next two days in order to advance to the Super Regionals. USC faces James Madison Sunday at 1 p.m. with the winner moving on to meet N.C. State at 6 p.m.
